Happy Fourth Of July!
Wow, this summer is flying by so quickly! I can't believe we are already into the month of July. I need to share what is "Currently" going on here at my house....
I'm listening/watching Disney's Frozen with my grandson, Carter who came over to spend the night with me. LOVE this little guy.
Loving my 4th of July nails...
Thinking that with all of the projects I have planned for the summer I should be doing something, or at least have one project complete. Epic fail on this front.Wanting to get back to all the summer projects I planned to accomplish. Between vacations and camping we have been on the go all summer.
Needing to unpack, clean the house, start the mound of laundry and clean out the camper.
Our plans are to BBQ with friends and family and going to watch the fireworks. I love spending this time with our grandsons, Carter and Ollie. Picture of Ollie loving the fireworks.
My summer has been a whirlwind of books! I am enjoying getting through my TBR (to be read) pile and adding to it as well. Last week I told you all that I was reading The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff. This book was recommended by a friend and I absolutely loved it!
Review: This novel tells two parallel stories of polygamy. The
first explains Brigham Young's expulsion of one of his wives, Ann Eliza,
from the Mormon Church; the second is a modern-day murder mystery set
in a polygamous compound in Utah. Unfolding through an impressive
variety of narrative forms; Wikipedia entries, academic research papers,
newspaper opinion pieces, the stories include fascinating historical
details. Ebershoff demonstrates an incredible writing style, as he convincingly inhabits the voices of both a
nineteenth-century Mormon wife and a contemporary youth
excommunicated from the church, while also managing to say something
about the mysterious power of faith.
I learned so much from reading this story. I was intrigued and astonished by the ending. This is a book I would have never chosen on my own. Sometimes opening ourselves up to a different type of story can make all the difference.
I was matched up with Chrissy from Every Free Chance www.everyfreechance.com and she was over the top AWESOME!!! I was blown away at my swap package. Through this swap we needed to send a book we love and a book we wanted to read but haven't yet and a book from our partners wish list. See my photo and all my extra special goodies. Thanks so much Chrissy!
I hope all of you have an amazing 4th of July! To aid you all in this endeavor, I am including for all of my friends a little 4th of July fun, with a scavenger hunt. Good luck!

My current read is The One and Only by Emily Giffin and it is by far the perfect beach read I have read all summer. I am loving it.
Swap Reveal
I have been so lucky to be included in the books and bloggers swap through Chaotic Goddess Swaps.
